El Baile Flamenco
El baile flamenco is known for its emotional intensity, proud carriage, expressive use of the arms and rhythmic stamping of the feet (often confused with tap dance or Irish dance but with a completely different technique). As with any dance form, many different styles of flamenco have developed. The flamenco is a solo dance characterized by hand clapping, percussive footwork, intricate hand, arm, and body movements. The dance is usually accompanied by a singer, guitar player, castanets, palmas and cajón. Flamenco Technique with roots in Indian, Arabic, and Spanish culture, flamenco dance is known for its sweeping arm movements and rhythmic feet stomping. Although there is no single flamenco dance, dancers must follow a strict framework of rhythmic patterns. Perhaps the greatest joy of flamenco dancing is the personal expressions and emotions of the dancer, which change many times during a single performance.
